The purpose of this program is to promote visitation and friendly competition at the chapter level. Any and all chapter "participants", to include North Carolina District and Region N staff, may participate in the capture of the Central Traveler.
A minimum of four GWRRA members, representing their home chapter, is required to capture the Central Traveler. All members, whether full, associate, or family, are eligible to count in the minimum of four participants. With a 24 hour notice, a District Staff or a Region N staff member (maximum of 1) may stand in for you as a member; however, if the District Staff members are standing with their home chapters, there is no maximum.
Family members, whether primary, secondary or family, accompanying a GWRRA member to a meeting may be counted toward the minimum number of chapter members required for plaque capture eligibility. However, tickets for the drawing are only issued to the family's GWRRA member and 01 member (husband and wife OR wife and husband will each receive one (1) ticket).
Each member will be required to show the Chapter Director a current GWRRA membership card upon request.; the plaque may be captured by automobile or motorcycle; there is no minimum mileage required; the winner of the plaque will be determined by a drawing.
The chapter that has traveled the longest distance will receive one extra ticket.
The capturing Chapter Director is responsible for notifying Ron & Alice Myers @ (336) 697-8193 or by email to grm0476@aol.com within 24 hours of capture.
Within thirty (35) days of capture, the capturing chapter must make the plaque available at their next monthly meeting or at their scheduled Chapter Special Event, whichever comes first. If a chapter does not have a regular meeting or special event scheduled within thirty (35) days, then that chapter is not eligible to capture the plaque.
The plaque should be awarded as soon as possible after the start of the meeting.
Once a chapter has captured the plaque, that chapter is not eligible to capture it at the next meeting or special event; however, if no other chapter is present to claim the plaque, then it becomes fair game for every Central chapter, including the previous chapter that held the plaque. This will hopefully help eliminate the possibility of the plaque sitting idle for more than a month.
The capturing chapter will attach a visitation bar to the Central Traveler upon capture.
Each time a chapter captures the plaque their chapter's name will go into a drawing for $100.00 to be awarded at the 2012 North Carolina Operations meeting.
The chapter capturing the plaque the most times will receive permanent possession of the plaque. Any ties will be decided by a drawing at the 2012 North Carolina Operations meeting.
The inclusive dates for this program are January 31, 2011 to December 31, 2011.
